Therapeutic Massage & Sports Massage

Therapeutic massage is the scientific art of assessment and hands-on manipulation of the superficial soft tissues of the body, commonly by use of the hands, elbow and forearm. It involves the systematic application of touch, stroking, kneading, vibration, compression and percussion techniques, as well as stretching and joint mobilization. It may also include the applications of heat and cold (heat/cold packs, ice, liniments etc). The purpose is to establish and/or maintain good physical condition and health by normalizing and improving muscle tone, promoting relaxation, stimulating circulation, and having a therapeutic effect on all body systems.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is using an understanding of the layers of the body and the ability to work with tissue in these layers, to relax, lengthen, and release holding patterns in the most effective and energy efficient way possible.

Myofascial Release Therapy

Myofascial Release involves the hands-on application of slow, gentle, prolonged force in the form of stretching or compression, to affect the release of tension in skeletal muscle, enveloping fascia and associated connective tissue structures.

Trigger Point Myotherapy

Trigger point myotherapy is a noninvasive therapeutic modality for the relief and control of myofascial pain and dysfunction.

CranioSacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy is a very gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the function of a physiological body arrangement called the craniosacral system. This manual therapy enhances the body’s natural healing processes and has proven effective in treating a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction. The roots of this therapy are in cranial osteopathy, developed by Dr. William G. Sutherland.

Manual Lymph Drainage

Manual lymph drainage (MLD) is an advanced form of massage that mimics the action of the lymphatic system, helping to remove congestion and stagnation  (oedema) out of body tissues, thereby stimulating the body’s immune system.

Thai Massage

This bodywork originated in India over 2500 years ago. The main focus is in helping to attain or regain ‘balance’ in the flow of energy (chi, ki or prana) in the body. Through rhythmic compression to energy lines and points, pressure on specific points and stretches to release blockages, a free flow of energy is restored. It is a blend of massage, acupressure, energy work and gentle yoga stretches.
